Campaign Film for the Victorian Society#SaveLiverpoolStreetStation

This video was created for The Victorian Society as part of their urgent campaign to protect Liverpool Street Station, one of London's most iconic and historically significant railway termini.

Overview

In summer 2025, CAV Aerial was commissioned by the Victorian Society to produce a short campaign film for the #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation campaign.

Our task was to create a compelling visual story — one that honoured the station’s architectural legacy and mobilised public awareness around the urgent threat of redevelopment.

Approach

A vintage train station bustling with people, a steam locomotive, and train cars on the platform, with a large clock hanging above and an arched window or entrance in the background.

We crafted a bold editorial narrative by blending cinematic aerial sequences, historical imagery, and motion graphics to reveal both the scale and soul of Liverpool Street Station.

The film opens with sweeping views of the station within London’s modern skyline, before diving into its powerful heritage story — from Victorian architecture to its role in welcoming child refugees during the Kindertransport.

A carefully composed soundtrack and purposeful pacing guided viewers from admiration to concern. In close collaboration with the Victorian Society, we ensured the message aligned with their goals while standing on its own as a powerful short film.

  • Cultural Landmark: The station remains one of the busiest and best-loved transport hubs in the UK.

  • Threat of Overdevelopment: Proposed redevelopment plans would see historic buildings lost behind a towering office block.
