Drone Roof Survey in South West London Reveals Cause of Leak
When a block manager in South West London contacted us about a possible roof leak, we deployed our drone inspection service to quickly identify the source without the need for costly scaffolding or roof access.
Using a DJI 4 Pro drone, we carried out a detailed aerial survey covering both the affected roof and the opposite side for comparison. From the imagery, we were able to pinpoint signs of water ingress and other contributing issues.
What We Found
High-resolution aerial photographs showed possible staining on the roof tiles, especially around the ridge line and near the valley. The gutters contained heavy debris and vegetation, particularly on one side of the property — a common indicator that water flow is restricted and pooling may occur during rainfall.
By comparing both sides of the roof, we could see that the staining and debris were far more pronounced on the problem side, confirming this area as the most likely source of the leak.
Why Drones Make Roof Surveys Faster and Safer
Traditional leak investigations often require ladders or scaffolding, which are expensive, slow, and disruptive. Using drones, we can capture ultra-sharp 4K imagery and zoom in on potential problem areas within minutes, producing a clear visual record for block managers, landlords, and surveyors to act on immediately.
Client Feedback
The block manager’s response summed it up perfectly:
“This is great, Constantine. Yes, very happy — I’ll keep you updated with upcoming jobs.”
